Building Resilient Youth
Practical Tips for Helping your Teen Make Healthy Choices
A new Resource from Parent Action on Drugs. Building Resilient Youth: Practical Tips for Helping your Teen Make Healthy Choices.
Research shows that resilient youth are less likely to experience problems related to substance use, mental health, gang participation, gambling, gaming, or other potentially harmful or unhealthy behaviours, and have improved coping and decision-making skills. Accordingly, Parent Action on Drugs has developed the Building Resilient Youth brochure as an educational resource for parents of teens. Brochure content highlights the risk and protective factors that affect resilience, including personal, family, peer, school, and community aspects. The brochure provides parents with concrete ways to help teens deal with life’s stressors, avoid problems and become strong, responsible individuals.
